Psychiatric Evaluations

A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive first appointment to understand your concerns, health history, current symptoms, and treatment goals. Together, we will discuss recommendations and create a plan that fits your needs.

Most appointments are by secure telehealth. We offer monthly-in person visits for patients prescribed

Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy provides a confidential space to explore patterns, build practical coping tools, and work toward meaningful change. Dr. Quimson-Guevarra provides psychotherapy on its own or alongside medication management on a select basis.

Integrated Psychiatric Care

For select patients, Dr. Quimson-Guevarra combines psychotherapy and medication-management sessions may offer a more coordinated approach. These 60-minute visits are typically scheduled weekly or every other week.

Psychiatric Consultation and Collaboration

We offer psychiatric consultation for individuals seeking guidance or a second opinion regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medication considerations, or next steps in care.

A psychiatric evaluation is a comprehensive first appointment to understand your concerns, health history, current symptoms, and treatment goals. Together, we will discuss recommendations and create a plan that fits your needs.

Psychiatric intake visits deviate from primary care intake visits by focusing on your mental health.

You will be asked about your mental health history, including prior diagnoses and treatment.

Since substances, like alcohol, can negatively impact a person’s mental health, you will also be asked about your prior and current substance use.

In addition, social aspects of your life can significantly impact your mental health so your psychiatrist may also ask about important relationships and experiences.

Providing more than a "medication check."

We take a whole-person approach to care.

Our 60-minute initial appointments and 30-minute follow-up visits provide time to understand your needs, discuss treatment options, and offer ongoing support.

The frequency of follow-up visits depend on acuity of symptoms, treatment response, clinical necessity, and patient preference. Patients who are undergoing medication changes are commonly seen every 4-8 weeks.*

(Follow-up frequency may vary depending on the specifics of your case.)

Integrated Psychiatric Care

Many patients benefit from both medication management and psychotherapy.

Dr. Quimson-Guevarra offers combined sessions for select patients.

These visits typically are weekly or bi-weekly. Sessions last 60 minutes.
