Frequently Asked Questions
What is Quimson Behavioral Health's Mission?
Quimson Behavioral Health is dedicated to fostering hope and healing by providing a safe, compassionate, and inclusive space for adults of all backgrounds, including Asian/Pacific Islander, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ communities, to access high-quality mental health care. We are committed to empowering individuals to overcome challenges, build resilience, and cultivate healthy behaviors with dignity and respect. Through culturally responsive psychiatric/medication management practices, personalized support, and evidence-based approaches, we strive to help every person discover their strength, embrace their identity, and move toward a life of balance and well-being.
What is Medication Management?
Psychiatric medication management is a process where a qualified mental health professional evaluates, prescribes and monitors psychiatric medications for individuals aiming to relieve mental health symptoms and improve overall well-being. This involves a collaborative process between the provider and the patient and includes regular check-ins to assess medication effectiveness, manage possible side effects, adjust dosage or medications as needed and educate the patient about their treatment. It can be used alone or in conjunction with psychotherapy.
Does Your Practice Provide Psychotherapy?
As a psychiatric practice, we focus primarily on medication management. Dr. Quimson-Guevarra does offer a select number of medication management/psychotherapy openings to individuals with more complex cases. However, we refer patients seeking treatment for PTSD diagnoses out to seasoned psychotherapists. We encourage individuals with complex or compounded trauma needs to work individually with a outpatient therapist who specializes in trauma-focused treatment frameworks. We will work collaboratively with your treatment team and ensure communication and continuity of care is coordinated.
For What Ages Do You Provide Care?
We work solely with adults ages 18-65.
Do You Provide In-Person Appointments?
Quimson Behavioral Health is a virtual practice. However, our providers offer one day per month in person for those who wish to be seen in office or require in-person for required health checks such as blood pressure readings, etc.

We are not in network with any Medicaid/OHP or Medicare plans.
